Fit the mason jar lid on loosely, wrap it in the heating pad and place it in a container that will keep the heating pad in contact with the mason jar. I use a cardboard box.
Shove your thermometer anywhere between the jar and heating pad. Switch the pad on high enough to sustain a steady temperature between ninety and one hundred and ten degrees. Let sit for eight to twelve hours. The longer it ferments the thicker the homemade yogurt will be. Once the time is up set the jar in the refrigerator. It will be cool and all set to mix with your chosen fruit by morning.
